Senior Systems Engineer – Expeditionary Medical (EXMED) Program

Location: Northern Virginia (hybrid/remote; mostly remote with the exception of onsite visits once a quarter)

Salary Range: $130,000 – $150,000

Clearance: US Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance


About the Program

This position supports the Expeditionary Medical (EXMED) program, a federal initiative delivering advanced IT and medical solutions to support military health operations worldwide. The program focuses on modernizing enterprise systems, advancing data-driven decision-making, and strengthening global medical readiness. As part of a prime contractor team, you’ll contribute to the design, development, and sustainment of mission-critical IT infrastructure that enables deployed medical forces to deliver care under the most challenging conditions.


About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer who thrives in building secure, reliable, and standardized Windows environments. You’ll take the lead on developing installations, configurations, boot scripts, and secured system images, ensuring they meet federal standards (STIG compliance) and mission demands. This is a hands-on role where your work directly impacts the performance, security, and scalability of IT environments that underpin global expeditionary medical operations.


What You’ll Do

  • Build and manage Windows virtualization environments.
  • Develop and maintain secured/STIG-compliant system images and repeatable configurations.
  • Create and optimize Windows PowerShell scripts to automate system tasks.
  • Configure and administer Hyper-V environments.
  • Oversee network and connection management related to Windows systems.
  • Deploy standardized Windows templates with pre-installed and configured software.
  • Collaborate with engineering and program teams to align systems with EXMED’s mission and security requirements.


Qualifications

  • US Citizenship required; ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • 5–7 years of systems engineering/administration experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong background in Windows Server, PowerShell scripting, and Hyper-V.
  • Proven experience building and sustaining applications in Windows environments.
  • Experience developing secured, STIG-compliant configurations.
  • Familiarity with federal IT programs (DoD or civilian agency experience preferred).
