WHAT'S THE JOB
We're partnering with a leading technology business to find a DevOps Engineer to join its Software Delivery team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on building reliable, scalable, and highly automated environments. You'll play a key role in improving the software delivery lifecycle, working across infrastructure, CI/CD, automation, and cloud-native technologies to ensure systems remain secure, resilient, and high performing.
Working closely with Software Developers and QA Engineers, you'll help streamline deployments, improve operational efficiency, and support business-critical platforms in a fast-paced technology environment.
WHAT WILL YOU DO
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and software delivery.
- Manage and optimise containerised environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Administer and maintain database platforms including MariaDB, MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
- Configure and manage load balancers, SSL certificates, and secure system communications.
- Monitor infrastructure health, availability, and performance using tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
- Develop automation scripts and operational tooling using Python and Bash.
- Work closely with Development and QA teams to support automated testing and deployment pipelines.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and performance issues across development, testing, and production environments.
- Drive continuous improvements to system scalability, resilience, security, and operational efficiency.
- Support business-critical systems through participation in a 24/7 on-call rota.
WHAT CAN YOU DO
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Bring 3+ years' experience in a DevOps or similar infrastructure engineering role.
- Demonstrate strong hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Have experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, ideally using GitLab CI/CD.
- Be confident administering relational databases including MariaDB, MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
- Have experience configuring load balancers, SSL certificates, and secure networking.
- Work confidently with monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana and Prometheus.
- Be proficient in scripting languages including Python and Bash.
- Demonstrate excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with Development, QA, and Infrastructure teams.
- Stay organised, manage competing priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced technology environment.
