WHAT'S THE JOB?
We're partnering with a leading telecommunications business to find an IP Networks Manager to lead the design, delivery, and ongoing evolution of its IP network infrastructure.
This is a leadership role for an experienced network professional who combines strong technical expertise with people management skills. You'll oversee the team responsible for maintaining the performance, security, and resilience of the organisation's IP Core network, supporting both mobile and fixed services, corporate connectivity, and retail infrastructure.
You'll play a key role in shaping the future of the network, driving operational excellence while leading a high-performing engineering team responsible for critical business infrastructure.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Lead the design, implementation, and operation of the organisation's IP network infrastructure.
- Oversee IP Core network environments supporting mobile, fixed, corporate, and retail services.
- Ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing connectivity across internal infrastructure and external network providers.
- Drive network availability, scalability, resilience, and overall service performance.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of network engineers, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Plan team resources, manage workloads, and oversee the successful delivery of network projects.
- Collaborate with internal technology teams to troubleshoot complex issues and deliver infrastructure improvements.
- Ensure network environments comply with security standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Manage departmental budgets, operational KPIs, and strategic objectives.
- Identify opportunities to modernise network infrastructure and improve operational efficiency.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that support future business growth.
- Contribute to the long-term network strategy, ensuring the infrastructure continues to meet business demands.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
- Hold an MQF Level 6 qualification in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Bring at least 3 years' experience leading technical teams within a telecommunications or enterprise networking environment.
- Demonstrate strong technical expertise in IP networking, routing, switching, firewalls, and fixed access technologies.
- Have a proven track record of leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing engineering teams.
- Communicate confidently with both technical specialists and senior business stakeholders.
- Demonstrate excellent organisational, strategic planning, and project management skills.
- Thrive in fast-paced environments, balancing operational priorities with long-term initiatives.
- Be analytical, commercially aware, and focused on delivering resilient, scalable network solutions.
