  • Hold regular team catch-ups to monitor progress, workload, and development.
  • Manage your own portfolio of clients, preparing management accounts and overseeing audit processes.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns for your client portfolio.
  • Ensure all client and team deliverables meet statutory requirements and deadlines.
  • Review financial statements, including complex disclosures.
  • Review VAT returns and accounting work prepared by other team members.
  • Support ongoing compliance monitoring within the accountancy function.
  • Promote internal procedures, controls, and best practices across the team.
  • Identify training needs and support the development and delivery of internal training sessions.
  • Liaise with internal departments to gather information for financial reporting and statutory submissions.
  • Escalate significant accounting issues or risks to management.
  • Support management in ensuring deadlines are met across the wider team portfolio.
  • Participate in client meetings and support junior team members in their client exposure.
  • Assist with new business opportunities and client onboarding discussions.
  • Contribute to team performance reviews and ongoing development processes.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

  • Bring at least 2 years’ experience in a senior role within a client accounting environment.
  • Be fully qualified through a recognised accountancy qualification.
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of client accounting, VAT, and financial reporting.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally in written and spoken English.
  • Use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and SAGE confidently.
  • Handle sensitive financial information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Work both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
  • Stay highly organised, detail-focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Show strong problem-solving ability and a proactive mindset.
  • Be comfortable working in a dynamic, team-oriented environment and supporting others.
