WHAT'S THE JOB


We're working with a well-established professional services group to find an Accounts Assistant to join its growing Finance team.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, this is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, keeping things organised, and getting stuck into the day-to-day running of a finance function.

You'll gain exposure across accounting, bookkeeping, billing, payments, VAT, and financial administration, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to build their career in finance.


WHAT WILL YOU DO


  • Support the day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions, including bank reconciliations and invoice processing.
  • Maintain accounts payable and receivable ledgers through to trial balance.
  • Prepare and process payments accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  • Support the monthly client billing cycle, including preparing and issuing client invoices.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of VAT returns.
  • Liaise with auditors, Tax and VAT teams, and the Malta Business Registry where required.
  • Maintain accurate, organised, and up-to-date financial records and filing systems.
  • Support the wider Finance team with day-to-day accounting tasks and ad hoc requirements.
  • Ensure financial documentation is accurate, complete, and easily accessible.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to keep communication flowing and tasks moving.


WHAT CAN YOU DO


  • Hold an Advanced Level qualification in Accounting.
  • Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is an advantage.
  • Have excellent written and spoken English.
  • Be confident communicating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across different departments.
  • Work independently while also being a collaborative team player.
  • Be comfortable using Microsoft Office and other standard finance and office tools.
  • Stay organised, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Take initiative and be comfortable working with minimal supervision.
  • Bring a proactive, positive attitude and a genuine interest in developing your finance career.
