Area Mitigation Supervisor
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Area Mitigation Supervisor to oversee all aspects of mitigation projects from start to finish. This hands-on leadership role requires both project management expertise and the ability to self-perform work on smaller jobs. The ideal candidate will ensure quality execution, maintain client satisfaction, and lead crews effectively while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Oversee all phases of mitigation projects including water, fire, and mold damage restoration
- Coordinate and schedule crews, equipment, and materials to meet project timelines
- Conduct daily site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance
- Manage project documentation including photos, daily logs, and completion reports
- Communicate regularly with clients, adjusters, and property managers regarding project status
- Ensure all work meets industry standards (IICRC) and company quality expectations
Hands-On Work
- Self-perform mitigation work on smaller projects including water extraction, demo, and drying
- Set up and monitor drying equipment (dehumidifiers, air movers, etc.)
- Perform moisture readings and document drying progress
- Execute emergency response services as needed
Team Leadership
- Direct and supervise mitigation technicians on job sites
- Train crew members on proper techniques, safety protocols, and equipment operation
- Conduct quality control inspections and provide feedback to improve performance
- Foster a culture of professionalism and customer service
Administrative Duties
- Review and approve timesheets for crew members
- Maintain accurate records in project management software
- Order supplies and equipment as needed
- Participate in on-call rotation for emergency response
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in mitigation or restoration industry
- Proven track record managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong knowledge of water damage restoration, structural drying, and demolition
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties
- Physical ability to perform demanding work (lifting 50+ lbs, working in confined spaces, climbing ladders)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficient with technology including smartphones, tablets, and project management software
Preferred Qualifications
- IICRC certifications (WRT, ASD, FSRT, or similar)
- Estimating experience using Xactimate or similar software
- Previous supervisory or crew lead experience
- Knowledge of insurance restoration processes
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Physical Requirements
This position requires regular physical activity including standing for extended periods, climbing ladders, working in tight spaces, exposure to various weather conditions, and lifting/carrying equipment and materials up to 75 pounds.
