Plumber Referral Program - Business Development Representative

The ideal candidate is a results-oriented sales professional with proven success in building strategic partnerships within the trades and service industries. This role focuses on developing and maintaining strong relationships with plumbing contractors and companies, positioning our full-service restoration company as their trusted partner for water damage, emergency response, and restoration services. The successful candidate will excel at face-to-face relationship building, understanding the unique needs of plumbing professionals, and creating mutually beneficial referral partnerships that generate consistent business opportunities.
Position Requirements
• Identify and recruit plumbing contractors, plumbing companies, and independent plumbers to join our referral partner network
• Conduct in-person meetings and site visits to present our full-service restoration capabilities including water damage restoration, emergency water extraction, structural drying, mold remediation, and reconstruction services
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key plumbing partners, serving as their primary point of contact for restoration referrals
• Educate plumbers on our referral program benefits, commission structure, response times, and service quality standards
• Attend plumbing industry tradeshows, local trade association meetings, and supplier events to network and build brand awareness
• Create and host networking events, lunch-and-learns, and appreciation events specifically for plumbing partners and prospective referral sources
• Manage the complete referral partnership lifecycle including initial outreach, agreement negotiation, onboarding, ongoing communication, and referral tracking
• Cultivate strategic partnerships with plumbing supply houses, distributors, and related trades to expand referral network reach
• Track and maintain detailed records of plumber contacts, partnership agreements, referral activity, and commission payments in CRM system
• Provide weekly reporting on business development activities, new partners recruited, referral volume, and revenue generated
• Travel approximately 50-75% within assigned territory to meet with plumbers at their locations, job sites, and industry events
• Achieve monthly and quarterly goals for new partner acquisition and referral-generated revenue
• Respond promptly to partner inquiries and ensure seamless communication between plumbing partners and our operations team
Qualifications
• Proven sales and business development experience, preferably in trades, construction, restoration, or related service industries
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with contractors and trade professionals
• Understanding of plumbing industry, water damage scenarios, and emergency service needs strongly preferred
• Strong networking and relationship-building skills with the ability to connect with trade professionals
• Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills for one-on-one and small group settings
• Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management abilities
• Comfortable working independently in the field and managing your own schedule
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required for territory travel
• Experience in restoration, water damage, or emergency services industry a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred
