Laundry Aide:
(5:00am-1:00pm)
The Laundry Aide is responsible for the overall laundry operations, keeping linens and clothing washed, dried, ironed, folded and stored in designate areas on a daily basis, as well as keeping laundry area and equipment clean while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, regulatory and organizational standards.
1. Takes full responsibility of laundry service.
2. Collects, sorts, counts and weigh soiled laundry, linen, garments and other articles, and places in appropriate containers or assigned areas.
3. Folds, counts, stacks, hang, and distribute clean laundry, linen, garments, and other articles as directed.
4. Keeps separate linen carts for transporting of soiled and clean linens.
5. Keeps contaminated linens that have been removed from beds of residents or patients who have a possible infectious condition in separate double bags, plainly marked. These items will be laundered and disinfected separately.
6. Uses germicidal agents and bleaching agents on all linens.
7. Washes, soaks, dries, presses, and/or irons articles as instructed.
8. Follows all clean linen procedures including drying, ironing, folding and storing all laundry in linen closets and designated areas by designated persons.
9. Works with various cleaning chemicals and solutions and comply with EPA and OSHA regulations and other safety policies
10. Complies with Blood-borne Pathogen Exposure Control Policy when applicable.
11. Reports needed supplies to supervisor, before running out. Reports repairs and equipment problems immediately to supervisory staff.
12. Keeps equipment and laundry area clean and performs equipment maintenance as scheduled.
13. Personifies outstanding customer service to co-workers, clients and vendors by acting as a subject matter resource in a timely, considerate and friendly manner, always maintaining the “Golden Rule” approach; practices patience and kindness.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS Required Education: High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) Preferred Experience: 1 year experience in position or specialization
