Vale Group has partnered with a company based in Matthews, NC, seeking a skilled Commercial Plumbing Estimator to work onsite, full time, for an opportunity paying $75,000–$100,000 annually, depending on experience. This role supports a growing preconstruction team by reviewing plans, preparing competitive estimates, and coordinating project cost strategies. The position is ideal for someone who has foundational experience in plumbing-related estimating and thrives in a structured environment that includes occasional regional travel to job sites.


Schedule:

This position requires working onsite Monday–Thursday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Fridays from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Tools Provided:

Laptop plus cellphone or cellphone reimbursement.

Benefits:

Requirements of the Commercial Plumbing Estimator:

● Minimum 2 years of experience preparing estimates within commercial plumbing (preferably new builds)

● Ability to evaluate drawings, quantify materials, and assemble complete cost proposals

● Strong analytical and organizational skills to structure project data clearly

● Capable of building positive relationships with internal teams and external partners

● Familiarity with industry software used for estimating and general office applications

● Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Estimating, or related field preferred (or equivalent field experience)

● Valid driver’s license for periodic regional travel

● Professional communication skills, both written and verbal

● Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

● Knowledge of construction standards, codes, and job-site safety practices


Responsibilities of the Commercial Plumbing Estimator:

● Review construction documents, interpret scope requirements, and prepare detailed takeoffs

● Build cost breakdowns including labor, subcontractors, materials, rental equipment, and overhead

● Organize bid packages and ensure all cost components are fully documented

● Monitor pricing trends and maintain relationships with vendors and manufacturers

● Coordinate with internal teams to refine cost assumptions and address project questions

● Assist in preparing proposals and submitting them within required timelines

● Maintain job history files and ensure accurate documentation for awarded projects

● Evaluate risk, lead times, and critical factors to support high-quality bid submissions

● Contribute recommendations aimed at strengthening cost efficiency and project profitability

● Support as needed
