Vale Group, a nationwide specialized recruitment firm, has partnered with a company based in Miami, FL, who is actively searching for an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to work onsite for an opportunity with a base salary starting at $200K highly flexible based on experience and track record of accomplishments. This is a senior executive opportunity with a well-established, FAA-certificated aircraft component repair and overhaul operation specializing in commercial landing gear, APUs, hydraulics, and pneumatic components. The company is positioned for its next stage of growth and is seeking a proven operational leader who can drive performance across quality, engineering, and the shop floor while building the structure and discipline needed to scale.


Requirements of the Chief Operating Officer:

● 20+ years of progressive operational leadership within an aviation MRO environment

● Significant hands-on experience with commercial landing gear and/or APU repair and overhaul strongly preferred

● Prior leadership of an operation in the $30+ million revenue range

● Demonstrated success with operational restructuring, lean methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives

● Strong command of FAA Part 145 repair station requirements; familiarity with EASA standards a plus

● Proven ability to lead and develop multi-layered teams, including shop floor managers and department heads

● Bachelor's degree in engineering, aviation management, business, or a related field preferred

● Financial and P&L acumen with the ability to align shop performance to company growth objectives


Responsibilities of the Chief Operating Officer:

● Direct all day-to-day operations across the repair station, including quality, engineering, and the shop floor

● Lead, mentor, and hold accountable all shop floor managers and operational department leadership

● Drive restructuring and lean initiatives to improve turnaround times, throughput, and cost efficiency

● Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute the strategy for scaling the operation to its next level of growth

● Strengthen cross-functional alignment between production, engineering, quality, and customer commitments

● Establish KPIs and reporting disciplines that provide visibility into shop performance and capacity

● Ensure sustained regulatory compliance and audit readiness across all certifications and capabilities

● Develop and support ongoing strategic initiatives
