Vale Group has partnered with an established company in the aviation & defense industry based in Stockton, CA to hire a highly experienced Machinist, for an hourly position paying $40 - $55/hr based on experience level and credentials. The ideal candidate will be a Journeyman level machinist capable of performing manual machining to extremely tight tolerances to successfully execute the requirements of highly critical aerospace and aviation components.

Machinist Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional relevant trade school diplomas or certifications are preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience
  • Proficiency in machining on a variety of materials
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Attention to detail, precision, and a commitment to producing flawless work.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Safety-conscious mindset and a dedication to following established protocols and guidelines.

Machinist Responsibilities:

  • Operate manual mills, lathes, and other machines such as jigs, tool post grinders, while meticulously working to meet engineering specifications and blueprints.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints, translating them into meticulous fabrication work.
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure that fabricated components align with design requirements and customer expectations.
  • Conduct inspections with precision measuring equipment, up to 0.0002 inch precision, identifying and addressing any imperfections or defects.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and best practices for machining operations.
  • Record and document work performed, maintaining accurate records of production and inspection data.
