Vale Group, a nationwide specialized recruitment firm, has partnered with a company based in Conroe, TX (The Woodlands / North Houston area), who is actively searching for an experienced Assistant Controller to work onsite for an opportunity paying up to $170K annually, based on experience. This role supports a large-scale global industrial manufacturing organization with substantial revenues and is structured as a succession-track opportunity into a Corporate Controller position within approximately two years. The position requires a strong accounting leader capable of operating in complex manufacturing environments while providing oversight, process improvement, and leadership across core accounting functions.
Requirements of the Assistant Controller:
● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
● CPA or CPA-track strongly preferred
● 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with demonstrated leadership exposure
● Background within large industrial or manufacturing organizations
● Prior public accounting foundation with transition into private industry preferred
● Strong understanding of consolidations, financial reporting, and internal control frameworks
● Experience supervising accounting staff or leading cross-functional accounting initiatives
● Advanced Excel skills and experience working within ERP-driven environments
Responsibilities of the Assistant Controller:
● Support accounting operations including consolidations, reporting, and month-end close across multiple entities
● Assist with strengthening internal controls and improving accounting processes within a manufacturing environment
● Partner with executive leadership to evaluate financial performance and support strategic initiatives
● Oversee balance sheet integrity, reconciliations, and technical accounting matters
● Mentor accounting staff while preparing for expanded leadership responsibilities aligned with succession planning
● Support audit coordination, compliance requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives
● Contribute to financial planning and reporting supporting domestic and international operations
● Support as needed
