Vale Group, a nationwide specialized recruitment firm, has partnered with a full service commercial and industrial plumbing contractor specializing in large-scale, ground-up construction, who is actively searching for an experienced Project Engineer or Project Manager to work onsite at a major project in Rock Hill, SC (reporting into Matthews, NC), for an opportunity paying $70,000 - $85,000 for the Project Engineer level or $85,000 - $105,000 for the Project Manager level, based on experience. This is a single opening that can be filled at either level depending on background. The ideal individual brings hands-on exposure to commercial mechanical or plumbing construction, a solid grasp of plans and specifications, and the drive to support a high-volume jobsite from kickoff through closeout.

Requirements of the Project Engineer / Project Manager:
● Project Engineer track: minimum of 3 years with a commercial mechanical or plumbing contractor
● Project Manager track: 2+ years with a commercial mechanical or plumbing contractor, which must include prior time spent as a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager
● Candidates with 5+ years of General Contracting experience paired with a PE or APM background will also be considered at the Project Manager level
● High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred (comparable field experience may substitute)
● Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, financial data, and contract documents
● Strong skills in scheduling, cost tracking, and managing budgets against estimates
● Proficiency with computers and construction-related software platforms
● Valid driver's license with dependable transportation; familiarity with jobsite safety standards
Responsibilities of the Project Engineer / Project Manager:
● Review plans and scopes to establish costs, then track labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor spend against budget
● Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and overall project documentation from pricing through client approval
● Coordinate deliveries, rentals, and material procurement while keeping vendor relationships strong
● Verify permits, licenses, and inspections are secured and scheduled on time
● Conduct regular site walks and attend project meetings with stakeholders and the general contractor
● Serve as the point of contact between the company, customers, vendors, and inspectors
● Help maintain staffing levels and lead pre- and post-job meetings with field crews
● Support as needed
