Vale Group, a nationwide specialized recruitment firm, has partnered with a company based in Hialeah, FL, who is actively searching for an experienced Inventory and Cost Accountant to work onsite for an opportunity paying up to $90,000 annually, based on experience and credentials. This role is well suited for an accounting professional with strong exposure to manufacturing cost structures, inventory valuation, and import-related expense allocation. The position will operate with a high degree of autonomy while supporting closing cycles, financial accuracy, and cost analysis across a globally sourced supply chain.

Requirements of the Inventory and Cost Accountant:

● Experience managing inventory accounting within manufacturing or distribution environments

● Exposure to import-related accounting including freight, duties, and landed cost capitalization

● 10+ years of progressive accounting experience

● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline

● CPA or similar certification preferred but not required

● Strong analytical capabilities with demonstrated problem-solving skills

● Working knowledge of monthly and annual closing procedures

● Experience utilizing ERP systems; Salesforce familiarity considered a plus

● Ability to work independently while maintaining strong attention to detail

Responsibilities of the Inventory and Cost Accountant:

● Review and reconcile inventory balances to ensure accurate valuation and cost movement

● Monitor and allocate freight, duty, and landed costs in accordance with accounting guidance

● Support month-end close through journal entries, accrual preparation, and account reconciliations

● Assist with internal financial reporting and preparation of supporting schedules

● Partner with operations and supply chain teams to investigate and resolve cost or inventory discrepancies

● Support ERP data accuracy and contribute to process improvement initiatives

● Perform ad hoc cost and financial analysis as requested

● Support as needed
