Vale Group, a nationwide specialized recruitment firm, has partnered with a company near Stephens city, Virginia, who is actively searching for an experienced Auto Title Clerk to work onsite for an opportunity paying up to ~$26 per hour, based on experience. This position sits at the center of the ownership documentation pipeline, preparing transfer paperwork and state filings for multiple rooftops while keeping every submission aligned with regulatory requirements. The right person brings prior dealership documentation experience, sharp organizational instincts, and the ability to juggle competing deadlines across several stores without losing accuracy. Comfort resolving lien and payoff discrepancies directly with lenders and state agencies is essential.


Requirements of the Automotive Title Clerk:

● Minimum of two years handling ownership documentation within a dealership setting

● Hands-on background preparing transfer packets, plate applications, lien releases, and loan payoffs

● Demonstrated precision when reconciling discrepancies tied to ownership records, encumbrances, or state submissions

● Experience maintaining pre-owned unit documentation across more than one store location

● Ability to triage shifting priorities and hold firm deadlines in a high-volume setting

● High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in accounting or business administration is welcomed

● Working command of Microsoft Excel for reconciliation and unit tracking

● Familiarity with dealer management platforms, CDK preferred

● Exposure to VITU or the West Virginia VRS system considered an advantage

● Bookkeeping familiarity or previous dealership accounting exposure preferred


Responsibilities of the Automotive Title Clerk:

● Prepare and file ownership transfer packets along with state registration submissions, promptly and error-free

● Oversee pre-owned documentation inventories spanning several store locations

● Investigate and clear open items involving encumbrances, lender payoffs, and rejected filings

● Keep unit tracking spreadsheets current, reconciled, and audit-ready

● Partner with the finance office, sales staff, and leadership so every transaction withstands compliance review

● Follow up with lenders, customers, and state agencies to secure missing or corrected paperwork

● Assist with clerical and record-keeping duties supporting daily store operations

● Maintain organized physical and digital files for internal and external review

● Support as needed
