Vale Group has partnered with a company in the construction industry, based in Thousand Oaks, CA, who is actively searching for an experienced Union Payroll Specialist to work onsite for an opportunity paying $75,000 - $95,000 per year, based on experience. This role involves managing payroll processing and certified payroll reports, requiring expertise in union payroll and heavy civil construction.

Requirements of the Union Payroll Specialist:

● Minimum of 3+ years of experience in processing UNION payroll for up to 300 employees

● Proficient in weekly/monthly UNION reporting

● Experience with Certified Payroll including using the DIR, Elations, and LCPTracker

● Background in heavy civil construction

● Certified Payroll experience preferred

● Bachelor's degree preferred

Responsibilities of the Union Payroll Specialist:

● Manage full payroll processing on a weekly basis, including:

• Entering hours for union and office employees
• Collecting and reviewing timecards
• Generating weekly payroll reports for internal review
• Tracking deductions (garnishments, loans, IRA, etc.) and vacation/sick time
• Printing checks and submitting ACH payments for approval
• Determining tax liability by pay date and submitting federal/state payroll tax deposits
• Initiating and posting journal entries in payroll software
• Building weekly payroll folders for auditors
• Managing extra checks and bonuses as requested ● Oversee certified payroll processing, including:
• Printing, signing, and organizing certified payroll reports for applicable jobs
• Exporting reports from payroll software into platforms like Elation Systems or LCPTracker
• Managing certified payroll reports
