Job Title: Maintenance Manager
Reports to (title): Technical Director Direct Reports: 2
Budget Scope: Prepares and manages the Maintenance department budget.
General Description: Responsible for planning, coordinating, directing, and implementing the maintenance department activities for production and the yard operations.
Position Responsibilities:
- Define the actions needed to maintain the facility and processing equipment in compliance with FDA, OSHA and EPA regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Acts as the Chairman of the Employee Safety Committee and is a member of the Food Safety/HACCP Team and the Crisis Management Team.
- Coordinates with Sales and Operations to develop and implement new or improved products and processes.
- Establishes the project requirements for external equipment and facility contractors
- Defines the operating parameters of the Preventive Maintenance program.
- Maintains an inventory of critical equipment parts to assure operational efficiency and profitability.
- Acts as the purchasing function for equipment and facility maintenance.
Education/Experience/Capabilities Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related experience.
- 15 to 20 years’ experience in food industry, with supervisory background. Hands on leadership.
- Must have excellent communication and management skills.
- Experience with PLCs, HMI, Conveyors, wastewater treatment/management. Ability to troubleshoot PLCs and equipment.
- Ability to travel on a limited basis.
Relationships: Equipment suppliers and manufacturers, maintenance support functions, information technology contractors, all company functions.
- Acts as the point person for computer and Information Technology systems.
- As a member of the Food Safety/HACCP Team, assures that root cause analysis and corrective actions, as defined by the HACCP Team, are completed.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, meeting with suppliers and contractors and establishing personal technical networks.
