The Senior Accountant maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and assists in the reconciliation of accounts in the general ledger. Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports, as well as inputs the financial results, forecasts and budgets into the Corporate financial reporting and consolidation software. Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to improve project reporting and assist in the accuracy of the Company's forecasts of future results.


Duties:

·        Recommend ways to reduce costs, enhance revenue and maintain timely reporting.

·        Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and alert the General Manager as needed.

·        Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.

·        Processes customer and vendor invoices for payment and monitors timeliness of customer payments - following up with customers as needed.

  • Reviews Coding of invoices of vendor and client invoices, payroll hours and general ledger entries to ensure the accuracy of the Company's financial reporting.
  • Handles all accounts payable and accounts receivable activities including data entry, payments, and 1099 processing, as well as journal entries in the general ledger - all on a timely basis.
  • Oversees inventory controls including inventory counts, adjustments, and review for out-of-stock items.
  • Serve as interim purchasing agent handling all the duties and responsibilities associated with purchasing in a manufacturing environment.

Skills and Experience necessary for success in the role:

  • Minimum of Associate's Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Requires 4-7 years of related experience in manufacturing and/or project related accounting.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience using QuickBooks is required.
  • Experience using QAD or SAP is required.
  • Strong understanding of P&L, Balance Sheets, Forecasting, Budgeting, and Project Based Accounting
