Job Title: Quality Assurance Supervisor - Food Production Industry
Reports to (title): Quality Assurance Manager No. of Direct Reports: 5
No. of Indirect Reports: 0 Budget Scope: NA
General Description: Supervises QA team in implementation and daily execution of product specification testing, food safety and quality procedures.
• Provides leadership across all food safety, quality programs and lab activities.
• Review documentation from the quality lab to ensure accuracy.
• Perform monthly chemical and expendable inventory to submit requests to QSM for ordering.
• Write, review and implement lab safety protocols.
• Maintain weekly microbiological sample submission program.
• Manages sample retention and evaluation program.
• Develops and trains staff on standards, processes and skills fundamental to food safety/quality.
Education/Experience/Capabilities Requirements
• Previous supervisory experience in the food industry required.
• Must have an understanding of GMP and HACCP.
• Must have proficient computer skills such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Strong interpersonal communication and oral presentation skills.
• Must demonstrate good leadership skills.
• Must have good technical reading and writing skills.
• Must have good math and analytical skills.
• Must be dependable and prompt with strong integrity and work ethic.
• Self-motivated, flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment; able to work well with others.
Relationships: Communication with production and maintenance personnel regarding issues or deficiencies with equipment, product, and/or personnel.
