General Description: Supervises team in the implementation and daily execution of product specification testing, food safety and quality procedures.
- Provides leadership across all food safety, quality programs and lab activities
- Review documentation from the quality lab to ensure accuracy
- Perform monthly chemical and expendable inventory to submit requests to QSM for ordering
- Write, review and implement lab safety protocols
- Maintain weekly microbiological sample submission program
- Manages sample retention and evaluation program
- Develops and trains staff on standards, processes and skills fundamental to food safety/quality
Education/Experience/Capabilities Requirements
- Previous supervisory experience required.
- Must have an understanding of GMP and HACCP.
- Must have proficient computer skills such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal communication and oral presentation skills.
- Must demonstrate good leadership skills.
- Must have good technical reading and writing skills.
- Must have good math and analytical skills.
- Must be dependable and prompt with strong integrity and work ethic.
- Self-motivated, flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment; able to work well with others
