Microsoft 365 Applications Analyst - Upton, NY
About the Opportunity:
In this role, you’ll work alongside leading scientists, engineers, and technical professionals who are tackling some of today’s most pressing scientific questions. You’ll help power research that explores everything from the fundamental forces of nature to the complex interactions within our environment—work that spans the smallest building blocks of matter to the vast edges of the universe.
You’ll play a key role in supporting research initiatives that drive the mission of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science. Your contributions will help enable discoveries in nuclear and particle physics, energy and climate sciences, quantum information science, artificial intelligence, and national security.
What You’ll Do:
· Design and configure SharePoint sites, including document libraries, lists, and forms to support collaborative research projects.
· Build and document automated workflows using Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate) to streamline scientific and operational processes.
· Collaborate with analysts, business users, and technical staff to translate requirements into robust, user-friendly solutions.
· Administer SharePoint environments, monitor system usage, and help ensure high availability and security.
· Develop Power BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights for scientific and operational teams.
· Perform ad-hoc software testing and troubleshooting.
· Provide clear documentation and user training as needed.
What You Bring:
· Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science or a related field.
· At least 1 year of relevant experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, and Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate).
· Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering user-focused solutions.
· Excellent communication skills—comfortable working with technical teams, researchers, and leadership.
· Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and respond to requests in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
· Willingness to provide after-hours support as needed.
Preferred Experience:
· Experience, certification, or coursework in:
· SharePoint, Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI
· PowerShell, Microsoft Teams, T-SQL, Visual Studio, .NET, C#
· Experience supporting end users and delivering training is a plus.
Additional Details:
· Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
· Competitive salary range: $72,900 – $121,500, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
