Job Role - Recruitment Consultant

Sector - Secondary Education

Location - Bristol, UK

Salary - Up to £35k Plus Commission

Who are you working with?

Talent Chief is excited to have partnered with a long-established recruitment agency in the Bristol area, with a penchant for the education sector. Established by a dynamic go-getter nearly 20 years ago, the company has managed to maintain its independent boutique feel while being the go-to choice of recruiter for the vast majority of educational establishments in the area.

The company breaks the perceived norms of education recruitment, allowing for a much more acceptable work/life balance within their employment.

What do they want?

The company has space for a Senior Recruitment Consultant specialising in Secondary Education. The desk is one of the most established desks in the company, and needs somebody to take over and run it. It has become available due to a recent promotion within the business, meaning it's very much an active desk with clients and candidates currently out. They also benefit from a brand new CRM system, much better equipped to deal with the vast requirements of the role.

You must be a team player and be willing to help out others when required. Previous experience in a smaller agency would be advantageous.

What is the job?

You'll join the company and work closely with the other recruitment professionals by mapping the market, winning new clients and listening to hiring requirements through thorough screening as to understand their needs, as well as completing thorough searches for the appropriate industry professionals.

You will screen candidates that you speak to to test suitability and have regular lines of communication with the hiring managers to amend wants and needs where necessary. You will handle the candidate process from initial screening up to the offer stage, as well as check in with them periodically to make sure they're happy.

You will also get the opportunity for progression upon hitting certain milestones, as this is calculated on performance rather than availability. There is scope to become a Team Leader if this is an avenue you'd like to visit.

So, what skills do I need?

  • Previous experience in 360 recruitment within an agency (minimum 3 years)
  • Strong background/understanding in temp recruitment
  • Ability to work within a team, as well as unsupervised
  • A strong network presence pre-existing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Great organisational skills
  • A team player
  • Computer-literate

Bonus

  • Experience in education recruitment would be advantageous

What's in it for me?

  • Basic Salary up to £35,000
  • Generous commission structure
  • Appealing working hours (different every day)
  • 25 days holiday per year plus Bank Holidays (10 of these can be taken during term time)
  • Reduced working hours during school holidays
  • Auto-enrollment pension scheme
