Business Development Executive


Department: Commercial / Sales

Reports to: Commercial Management

Work Modality: Hybrid – Heredia, Costa Rica

Compensation: USD $1,500 base salary + attractive commission structure

Availability: Immediate availability preferred


Position Objective

Develop new business opportunities and strengthen relationships with existing clients through outbound sales strategies, account management, and consultative selling. The objective of this role is to contribute to revenue growth, expand the client portfolio, and build long-term business relationships that support the company's commercial goals.


Academic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in International Business, Foreign Trade, Business Administration, Marketing, or related fields.
  • Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken).


Main Responsibilities


Business Development

  • Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities through outbound sales activities.
  • Execute cold calling, email outreach, networking, and other prospecting strategies to generate qualified leads.
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through continuous follow-up and opportunity management.
  • Develop relationships with decision-makers and key stakeholders within target organizations.

Account Management

  • Manage and grow existing client accounts through cross-selling and relationship-building strategies.
  • Ensure consistent communication with clients to identify new opportunities and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by understanding client needs and recommending appropriate solutions.

Commercial Operations

  • Maintain accurate and updated information within the CRM system.
  • Prepare commercial proposals, contracts, and supporting documentation.
  • Follow up on negotiations and sales processes through closing and implementation.
  • Track and report commercial activities, sales performance, and pipeline status.

Market Development

  • Participate in networking events, trade shows, and industry activities to generate business opportunities.
  • Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and competitive activity.
  • Share relevant market and industry insights with clients and internal stakeholders.

Performance Management

  • Achieve individual sales goals and contribute to overall commercial objectives.
  • Monitor and manage assigned KPIs related to prospecting, pipeline growth, client retention, and revenue generation.


Required Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in B2B sales, business development, account management, or similar commercial roles.
  • Proven experience managing client relationships and generating new business opportunities.
  • Experience in outbound prospecting, including cold calling, lead follow-up, and pipeline management.
  • Experience working with CRM platforms and sales tracking tools.
  • Experience in services related to foreign trade, logistics, supply chain, freight forwarding, or business services is highly desirable.
  • Experience achieving sales targets and managing commercial KPIs.
