The Consultant – Logistics will drive the transformation of how clients manage their supply chain. This individual will analyze and advise clients on how to enhance and develop cost-effective solutions for the coordination, distribution, transportation, and warehousing of goods. He/she will drive the identification and implementation of improved logistics processes, recognize and analyze issues, and work to provide appropriate resolutions.

 

You will:

 

  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved business outcomes.
  • Recommend accurate and creative solutions to customer problems or concerns.
  • Partner with the client to develop future state solutions that will bring about required change.
  • Conduct impact analysis of recommended changes.
  • Follow the project plan and work to ensure timely meetings of milestones and delivery outcomes.
  • Provide accurate and creative solutions to customer problems or concerns.
  • Help clients develop the tools, processes, and knowledge base needed to create customer value, build competitive advantage, and boost profitability on a global basis.
  • Prepare a strategy to achieve the proposed recommendations.
  • Build long-term, valuable relationships with key customers.
  • Ensure knowledge transfer to client personnel through active support and follow-up.
  • Ensure that all internal and external interactions are carried out ethically and with a high regard for customer service.
  • Escalate issues according to procedural guidelines.
  • Proactively notify the Engagement Leader of follow-up provided and solutions delivered for situations requiring their attention.
  • Ensure accurate recording and reporting status and play a leadership role in weekly status meetings.
  • Support the Engagement Director in recording and reporting status and participate in weekly status meetings.
  • Understand and analyze each client’s existing logistics processes and strategies.
  • Translate the product demand into net requirements along the supply chain.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved supply chain performance.
  • Facilitate RFXs and manage the process.

 

You have...

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, supply chain, engineering, logistics, operations management, business or relevant field.  Advanced degree preferred. PMP Certification a plus.
  • 8-10+ years of supply chain and logistics experience.
  • Direct experience developing and implementing strategies as well as designing and implementing systems, processes, and tools to address supply chain challenges required.
  • Prior work experience in an implementation consulting firm.
  • Background in multiple modes of transportation (TL, LTL, Chemical Transportation, Dedicated Multi-stop, Rail, Ocean, Air, Parcel)
  • Understanding of current market dynamics and strategy
  • Knowledge of preferred ports of call in China and throughout Asia
  • Understanding of interprovincial inland shipping dynamics and domestic drayage
