JOB DESCRIPTION: Assistant Controller


Reports to:                       Director of Accounting and Finance

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Controller who’s ready to take ownership of the role, grow into a future Controller, and make an impact on the success of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

1)     Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial data and communicate that data clearly with other team members to make confident decisions

2)     Budgeting: Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes to measure performance and support strategic planning

3)     Data Visualization: Automate live data that translates into actionable visual representations  

4)     Business Intelligence: Implement AI and other business intelligence tools to analyze financial data and generate actionable insights

5)     Scorecards: Own and maintain scorecard metrics across departments to drive financial results

6)     Decision Making: Develop and maintain financial models to assist in business decision-making

7)     Scenario Analysis: Support FP&A activities, including forecasting, and scenario analysis

8)     Financial Systems: Assist in the implementation and enhancement of financial systems and processes

9)     Financial Management: Manage the fundamental principles of the accounting and finance team including billing, AR, AP, job costing, treasury management, and the general ledger

10)  Job Profitability Analysis: Collaborate with project managers on job profitability forecasting

11)  Pursue Excellence: Take initiative, ask questions, and push to perform at a high level

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.

·        3+ years of leading edge accounting experience, with focus on FP&A and Business Intelligence

·        Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

·        Experience with accounting software, data analytics, AI, and BI tools

·        Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

·        Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
