JOB DESCRIPTION: SENIOR ACCOUNTANT


Reports to:                       Controller

 

Position Mission:           Year 1: Learn, support, and improve the financial management of the company. Analyze data to drive actionable insights for the company and its decision makers.

Job Responsibilities Include:

 

1)     Analyze data and provide insights into performance, trends, and areas of improvement or concern, assisting in decision making processes

2)     Support cross functional teams with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting

3)     Support overall financial management functions including billing, AR, AP, job costing, treasury management, and the general ledger

4)     Prepare and deliver accurate and timely financial reports to third party service providers, owners, and managers

5)     Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses, collaborating with managers

6)     Collaborate with project managers on job cost accounting to track and forecast project costs and profitability

7)     Collaborate with 3rd party CPA firm for preparation of annual financial statement review, tax returns, and regulatory filings

8)     Collaborate with Controller to maintain and update the ERP/general ledger system

9)     Evaluate and implement improvements to financial systems, processes, controls, and workflows

10)  Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls

Requirements:

·        Personal core values in alignment with Company core values

·        Advanced degree in Accounting preferred

·        Proficiency in accounting and data analytics software

·        Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

·        Experience with creating valuable financial insights including visuals

·        Experience with budgeting and forecasting

·        Experience with data analytics

·        Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
