Overview

A well-established and growing truss and components operation in the Southwest is seeking a General Manager to lead full P&L performance and drive operational excellence.

This is a true business leadership role overseeing production, sales alignment, financial performance, and team development. The ideal candidate is a hands-on operator who understands how to balance throughput, margin, and market growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Full P&L responsibility for the truss operation
• Lead production, scheduling, yard, and logistics functions
• Align closely with sales and estimating teams to ensure margin discipline
• Improve operational processes, workflow, and output efficiency
• Develop and mentor department leaders and supervisors
• Drive accountability across safety, quality, and on-time delivery
• Identify growth opportunities within the local and regional market
• Strengthen customer relationships and support business development efforts

Ideal Background

• 7+ years of leadership experience in:
• Truss manufacturing
• Engineered wood products
• Structural components
• Building materials operations
• Prior P&L responsibility strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of truss production workflows and plant operations
• Experience working cross-functionally with sales teams
• Proven ability to improve margins and operational structure
• Comfortable leading both field and office personnel
