Light Gauge Steel Truss Designer

Join an established and well-respected manufacturer specializing in custom light gauge steel truss and wall panel systems. With decades of success in delivering precision-engineered components for commercial, multifamily, and institutional construction projects, the company is expanding its design team.


We’re looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Light Gauge Steel Truss Designer who can contribute to high-profile structural framing projects across the region.


💼 What You’ll Do

  • Design light gauge steel roof and floor truss systems using industry-standard software
  • Read and interpret architectural and structural plans
  • Collaborate closely with estimators, project managers, and production teams to ensure accuracy and manufacturability
  • Prepare construction drawings, layout plans, and material take-offs
  • Communicate directly with customers, engineers, and field personnel as needed
  • Ensure designs meet building code and engineering requirements


What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in cold-formed steel or light gauge truss design
  • Proficiency with relevant design software, prefer Alpine TruSteel
  • Strong understanding of framing systems, connection details, and structural load paths
  • Ability to work from construction documents and develop clear, buildable shop drawings
  • Attention to detail and a team-first attitude
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills


Bonus If You Have

  • Experience working in a truss or wall panel manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with ICC codes and relevant industry standards
  • Prior experience with shop fabrication support or design/build projects
