Position Summary:
We’re seeking a skilled EWP Designer to join our team and provide layout, design, and technical support for engineered wood products. In this role, you’ll work remotely while collaborating closely with outside sales reps, customers, and internal teams to deliver accurate and cost-effective solutions. This is a key technical position with room for growth and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design floor and roof systems using proprietary software (e.g., MiTek, Boise, iStruct, Forte, or equivalent)
- Provide complete takeoffs and layout packages for single-family, multifamily, and light commercial projects
- Review architectural and structural plans for accuracy and completeness
- Collaborate with sales and customers to value-engineer solutions and ensure code compliance
- Assist with troubleshooting and field support as needed
- Stay up to date with local building codes and industry best practices
- Maintain organized records of design files and communications
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in EWP design, preferably with a distributor, manufacturer, or dealer
- Proficiency with EWP software platforms such as MiTek, Boise BC Framer, or equivalent
- Strong understanding of residential/light commercial framing and load paths
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and structural drawings
- Excellent attention to detail and time management
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Must reside in the New England area (remote work with occasional travel or site visits)
