Position Overview
We are seeking a talented Employment Attorney to join our client's dynamic legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse employment law matters while building meaningful client relationships. The successful candidate will handle a varied caseload and contribute to the firm's continued growth and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in employment-related litigation including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and wage & hour disputes
- Draft and review employment contracts, severance agreements, and workplace policies
- Provide counsel on compliance with federal and state employment laws (FEHA, Title VII, ADA, FMLA, etc.)
- Conduct workplace investigations and provide guidance on HR matters
- Handle administrative proceedings before the EEOC, DFEH, and other regulatory agencies
- Negotiate settlements and represent clients in mediation proceedings
- Collaborate with clients to develop proactive employment strategies
- Assist with business litigation matters as needed
- Maintain detailed case documentation and client communications
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active member of the California State Bar in good standing
- 2-6 years of employment law experience, preferably in a law firm setting
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven litigation experience with employment-related matters
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Professional demeanor and client service orientation
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in both plaintiff-side and defense work
- Familiarity with e-discovery platforms and case management systems
- Previous experience in a collaborative firm environment
- Business development skills and existing professional network
