Summary

As a Heavy Civil Project Engineer, you will play a key role in driving project success from the ground up. You’ll coordinate technical activities, support field operations, and work closely with the Project Manager to plan, schedule, and execute project tasks. You will ensure quality and safety standards are met, facilitate clear communication across all disciplines, and help keep the team aligned and moving forward. In this role, you may be entrusted with day-to-day coordination with clients and internal teams, always representing the company’s commitment to excellence, collaboration, and operational integrity.

 

Responsibilities

  • Review submittals and shop drawings to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Manage project documentation, RFIs, and schedule updates to support seamless project controls.
  • Track quantities, perform takeoffs, and verify installed work for accuracy.
  • Support daily coordination and communication with crews and subcontractors.
  • Participate in owner, subcontractor, and internal team meetings to drive alignment.
  • Monitor and enforce quality assurance and quality control on all work activities.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues, supporting risk management and problem-solving.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks to keep the project on schedule and within budget.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently, upholding professional standards of teamwork and client service.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred; 0–3 years’ experience in heavy civil construction or equivalent education/experience.
  • Solid understanding of civil construction methods, industry standards, and government regulations.
  • Proficiency with P6 scheduling, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, On Center OST, and MS Project.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • High energy, positive attitude, and a team-first mindset—motivates others and leads by example.
