Summary

As a Heavy Civil Project Manager, you will be the driving force behind project success from preconstruction through closeout. You will lead project planning, budgets, schedules, and contracts, ensuring every phase aligns with client goals and the company’s standards of excellence. You will hire and manage subcontractors, oversee quality and safety, and proactively resolve challenges as they arise—whether in the field or with agency officials. Acting as the central point of communication, you will connect owners, designers, and field teams, fostering collaboration, informed decision-making, and a solutions-driven approach that delivers results for clients and communities.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead project planning, scheduling, and workflow to keep teams aligned and projects on track.
  • Set clear project objectives, policies, and performance standards.
  • Oversee subcontractor management, contract negotiations, and timely issuance of agreements.
  • Drive budget management, cost control, and financial forecasting for project success.
  • Coordinate with owners, designers, field teams, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and resolve issues.
  • Manage change orders, contract revisions, and monthly owner billings accurately and on time.
  • Champion safety, quality, and compliance across all project activities.
  • Motivate, develop, and lead project teams, fostering a culture of accountability and growth.
  • Represent the company with professionalism, building strong client relationships.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Construction Management preferred; 5–15 years of heavy civil experience or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of construction risk management, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent time management and decision-making skills, even under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to support projects across multiple sites.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, lead, and organize high-performing teams.
  • Commitment to a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
