Member of Technical Staff – Product Engineer (Hybrid | San Francisco, CA)

About the Job

Join a high-impact AI team at a pivotal moment. In this hybrid San Francisco–based role, you’ll help build the foundation of a new generation of intelligent developer tools — from backend systems to elegant user interfaces.

This is a rare 0→1 product opportunity with massive influence on both technology and product direction.

What’s in it for you?

  • $170,000 – $350,000 base salary

  • Equity in a $200M+ funded, high-growth AI company

  • Hybrid work model – 5 days/week onsite for the first 2–3 months, then 3+ days onsite

  • $250 monthly lifestyle stipend

  • Generous personal development budget for coaching, courses, and conferences

  • Daily team lunches and frequent offsites

  • Flat structure with bi-annual compensation reviews and raises tied directly to impact

  • Join a small, elite engineering team with backgrounds in leading AI, systems, and devtools companies

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Build and iterate on product features across the full stack — from front-end UX to backend logic.

  • Conduct user interviews to identify core needs and translate insights into product improvements.

  • Rapidly prototype new ideas and experiment with novel user experiences.

  • Ship high-quality code across multiple environments (web, CLI, IDE).

  • Collaborate closely with designers and product leads to define and shape the product roadmap.

  • Exercise judgment on what matters most — balancing velocity, reliability, and impact.

What You’ll Need:

  • 2+ years of professional software engineering experience (startups or top-tier engineering teams)

  • Proven experience with React, TypeScript, and Python

  • Strong intuition for great product design and user experience

  • Demonstrated ability to build 0→1 — early-stage startup or founder experience a plus

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and technical judgment

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of working independently

  • Passion for building tools that empower developers and improve how people code

Ready to Make an Impact?

Help shape the next wave of intelligent software creation — where AI empowers developers, not replaces them.
