Member of Technical Staff – Product Machine Learning

About the Role


We’re looking for a Member of Technical Staff focused on Machine Learning Product Development with 5 + years of experience building and owning commercial ML systems.


You’ll help design, train, and deploy production-grade models that power a generative-AI platform used by leading finance and accounting organizations.


This is a highly visible, hands-on role at the intersection of machine learning engineering, data infrastructure, and product design, ideal for someone who thrives on measurable impact and rapid iteration.


What You’ll Do


  • Build Core ML Systems: Design and implement scalable ML and product infrastructure for real-world data-processing applications.


  • Iterate on Datasets & Inference: Develop training and inference systems, improve dataset strategy, and optimize models to scale to millions of documents.


  • Integrate with Product: Embed ML inference pipelines directly into end-to-end products used daily by professionals.


  • Collaborate with Experts: Partner with accountants and domain specialists to encode industry knowledge into practical, high-accuracy systems.


  • Own Quality & Performance: Measure key product and model metrics, drive continuous improvement, and ensure reliability at scale.


Who You Are


  • 5 + years of experience in ML engineering or applied AI product development.


  • Deep understanding of data modeling, inference systems, and model evaluation.


  • Hands-on proficiency with Python and modern ML frameworks.


  • Demonstrated success deploying production ML systems at scale.


  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment balancing research and shipping.


  • Excellent communicator with strong product intuition and end-user empathy.


Work Environment


  • Location: Union Square, San Francisco

Compensation & Benefits


  • Salary: $200K – $325K
