Compensation: $150K – $300K + Extremely Competitive Equity

About the Role

We’re looking for an AI-focused Member of Technical Staff to help build the next generation of web infrastructure — one designed for intelligent agents, not just humans. You’ll work on foundational engineering challenges at the intersection of large-scale web data, retrieval systems, and AI-native applications.

This is a deeply technical, hands-on role where you’ll design, build, and deploy backend systems that enable AI agents to crawl, parse, and reason across the web. You’ll move fluidly between research and production environments, owning your work end to end and helping define how AI interacts with real-world information at scale.

Tech stack: Python, C++, TypeScript, Applied AI, Retrieval and Reasoning Systems, Evaluation Pipelines

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement large-scale retrieval, ranking, and reasoning systems for AI-driven applications
• Build APIs and infrastructure that allow AI agents to process and understand web data
• Contribute to performance, evaluation, and data quality pipelines across research and product teams
• Collaborate with researchers and product engineers to translate prototypes into production-ready systems
• Shape the technical architecture of core systems that power AI-native web infrastructure

What We’re Looking For

• Deep technical background in backend engineering, data infrastructure, or applied AI
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems, retrieval models, or LLM-based applications
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or TypeScript
• Strong product intuition and eagerness to ship fast, iterative solutions
• Collaborative mindset and comfort working in a small, highly technical team
• Willingness to work on-site 5 days/week
