Senior Manager, Technology Risk


Full-time | Remote (U.S.)


About the Role


We’re seeking a Senior Manager, Technology Risk to lead the development and maturity of a global technology risk program for a high-growth, regulated fintech organization.


This is a strategic leadership role responsible for building scalable risk management frameworks, guiding teams through complex risk lifecycles, and ensuring technology decisions align with business goals.


You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and compliance stakeholders to design processes that reduce risk exposure while enabling innovation.


The ideal candidate has strong technical depth, fluency in risk frameworks, and experience leading teams in fast-paced, evolving environments.


What You’ll Do


  • Lead Risk Lifecycle Management: Oversee the intake, analysis, scoring, and reporting of technology risks across multiple domains.


  • Enable Risk-Informed Decision-Making: Communicate quantitative and qualitative tradeoffs to help executives make data-driven risk decisions.


  • Build and Mature Risk Frameworks: Develop scalable processes for identifying, tracking, and mitigating risks across systems, products, and geographies.


  • Own the Risk Register: Maintain and improve the company’s source of truth for technology risks, ensuring data accuracy and automation of reporting workflows.


  • Collaborate with Enterprise Risk: Partner with enterprise-level teams to ensure alignment between technology and organizational risk frameworks.


  • Lead and Mentor: Build and develop a team of analysts, fostering a culture of accountability, agility, and technical excellence.


  • Regulatory and Audit Readiness: Support data preparation and responses for audits, regulatory reviews, and risk assessments.


  • Continuous Improvement: Iterate on risk methodologies, threat modeling, and control testing to stay ahead of emerging risks and technologies.


  • Cross-Functional Communication: Deliver clear reporting, dashboards, and briefings to senior leadership and technical stakeholders.


What We’re Looking For


  • 8+ years of experience in Technology Risk, GRC, Security, or IT Audit functions within fintech, technology, or financial services.


  • Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring risk or compliance teams.


  • Strong understanding of frameworks like COBIT, NIST, ITIL, and modern control assurance practices.


  • Experience working directly with engineering and product teams to integrate risk management into technical workflows.


  • Ability to communicate risk tradeoffs effectively to both technical and executive audiences.


  • Strategic mindset with the ability to build from zero-to-one and scale existing programs.


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.


  • Bonus points for:


  • Experience in cloud risk management (AWS, GCP, or Azure)


  • Exposure to regulatory technology (RegTech) or crypto/fintech ecosystems


  • Advanced certifications (CRISC, CISSP, CISA, or equivalent)


Compensation & Benefits


  • Base Salary: $230K – $271K (non-negotiable; localized by region)


  • Bonus: 15% annual cash bonus


  • Equity: $200K annual RSU grant, quarterly vesting with performance multipliers
