Job Title: Operations Director

Location: Bahrain


Operations Director required for well-established upscale patisserie concept. Part of a reputable hospitality and restaurant group. The owning company operates across multiple sectors


Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to oversee the operations of two boutique patisserie stores, a catering business that handles weddings, celebrations, corporate events. The role will also oversee the central kitchen.


Key Responsibilities:


Operational Management:

  • Ensure the smooth and efficient running of patisserie stores, catering services, and central kitchen operations.
  • Total staff compliment 300
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet business growth targets and sustain profitability.
  • Oversee daily operations to maintain product quality, service standards, and overall efficiency.


Financial Management:

  • Ensure financial targets are met concerning revenue, cost control, profit, and debtor management.
  • Prepare financial reports and MIS as required.
  • Devise systems for monitoring and reviewing operating costs in collaboration with the Finance Department.


Catering and Events Management:

  • Manage catering services, ensuring adherence to company standards regarding product specifications, quality, timely delivery, and food hygiene.
  • Maintain guest satisfaction and ensure that catering services meet customer expectations.


Quality Assurance & Health and Safety:


  • Ensure compliance with local statutory and legal requirements for health, safety, fire licensing, and food handling.
  • Implement and monitor HACCP standards, ensuring all staff follows set policies.
  • Regularly assess and improve operational standards to align with customer needs.


Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build healthy relationships with guests to ensure brand loyalty.
  • Establish guest satisfaction surveys and implement improvements based on feedback.


Staff Management & Development:

  • Lead, train, and mentor staff to maintain high service standards.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and ensure optimal staffing levels.
  • Promote career progression and encourage training programs in conjunction with HR.


Business Development:

  • Assist in marketing campaigns and strategies to increase brand visibility and sales.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the guest base and improve revenue.


Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure the operations comply with all legal requirements.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on operational performance.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in operations management within the hospitality, F&B, or luxury retail industry.
  • Must have catering experience.
  • Must have Middle East experience in a similar role.
  • Strong communication skills in English, Arabic a plus
  • Financial acumen and experience in budget management.
  • Knowledge of food safety, quality controls, and HACCP standards.
  • Ability to lead and supervise teams, cope under pressure, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
