Japanese Sommelier  - Luxury Resort in the Maldives


Key Responsibilities:


  • Wine service in the resorts Japanese restaurant
  • Support in conducting pairings for guests
  • Provide personalized wine recommendations based on guest preferences and occasions.
  • Help with maintaining the wine cellar, ensuring accurate inventory, proper storage, and stock control.
  • Work closely with the service team to deliver excellent wine service during dining.
  • Stay informed on wine trends and continuously develop knowledge of global wine regions and varieties.
  • Participate in training sessions for F&B staff, helping to enhance their wine knowledge.


Requirements:


  • Sommelier Certification
  • Must speak Japanese
  • Minimum 6 months experience as a sommelier in an upscale restaurant or 5-star hotel or luxury setting is preferred.
  • Passionate about wine and eager to learn more about wine pairings and service.
  • Strong customer service skills, with a focus on enhancing the guest experience.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
