Director of Operations Restaurant Group ( North America and Canada )


Our client is a world-renowned Taiwanese restaurant chain known for its exceptional dumplings, noodles, and other delectable Chinese dishes. They pride themselves on delivering an outstanding dining experience through our meticulous attention to detail, high-quality ingredients, and exceptional customer service. A fast-growing company with 170+ restaurants in 13 countries and expanding by 2 restaurants annually.

Their flagship restaurant in Hong Kong has been awarded a Michelin star 5 times.


Job Summary: The Director of Operations will oversee the FOH operational activities across North America ( US and Canada) This leadership role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, driving performance, and maintaining the high standards that the company is known for. The Director of Operations will work closely with the senior management team to implement strategies that enhance productivity, streamline processes, and promote growth across all units.


  • Reporting into the VP of Operations
  • Will be responsible for overseeing multiple locations with revenues of around $ 500 million (16 + stores )


Key Responsibilities:


Operational Oversight:

  • FOH focus for the brand across North America
  • Oversee restaurant general managers and provide guidance, support, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Financial Management:

  • Monitor financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, and profit and loss statements.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize costs and drive revenue growth.
  • Ensure financial goals are met by analyzing data, identifying trends, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.

Staff Development:

  • Recruit, train, and develop restaurant managers and other key staff members.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.

Customer Experience:

  • Uphold brand high standards of customer service and dining experience.
  • Address customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation, and service across all locations.

Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute operational strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Lead initiatives to expand and grow the business, including new location openings and market entry.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements across all units.
  • Implement and enforce food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Maintain a safe and secure working environment for all employees and guests.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field
  • Must have experience handling revenues of $200 million and over per annum
  • Proven experience as a Director of Operations, Area Manager, or similar multi-unit management role in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and P&L statements.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required to oversee multiple locations.
