Well-established hospitality and lifestyle group in Bahrain.


The Operations Manager will oversee 3 brand, restaurants include 2 Italian casual , 1 Mediterranean/Lebanese concept and new launching upscale Steakhouse ) 4 locations in total.


Reporting into the CEO and COO


Direct reports are the 4 restaurant managers.


  • Reporting to the COO and serving as a member of the Management Team, this position's primary is ensuring operational effectiveness by providing leadership for the business units,
  • Working with the management team, this position also contributes to the development and implementation of Organizational strategies, policies and practices. This position will also interact with the Executive Office.
  • This position will lead and manage, strategically and operationally, the activities, operations, resources and personnel of the Company’s Cluster Division, ensuring these supports, and are supported by, the activities of employees across the Organization, as required.


Operational

  • Support and direct SBU management in order to achieve revenue targets and budgeted profit.
  • Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics.
  • Oversee guest service processes and organize them to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Lead the development of, and oversee the implementation of service improvement plans where

required.

  • Evaluate regularly the effectiveness of business procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvements.
  • Revise and/or formulate other policies and promote their implementation.
  • Review financial information and adjust operational systems to promote profitability.
  • Liaise with COO to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals.
  • Plan and monitor the day-to-day operations of the business/s to ensure efficient progress.
  • Lead, grow, develop and manage direct reports and others in the Cluster Division.
  • Oversee staff appraisal and supervision systems in line with required competencies
  • Resolve performance issues among staff and management



Development


  • Direct the effective prioritization and delivery of key Cluster Division projects, leading project delivery groups.
  • Coordinate project operations and provide direction and structure for stakeholders to optimize internal resources for delivery of projects.
  • Develop and implement an appropriate approach to project management across the Division to manage the challenges of growth in scale, scope and complexity of operations effectively.


Financial

  • Participate in strategic and annual business planning processes.
  • Develop and manage individual SBU budgets in conjunction with the Company Finance

Department.

  • Oversee monthly and quarterly assessments and forecasts of Cluster Division’s financial performance against budget, financial and operational goals.
  • Manage and monitor SBU budgets including analysis, reporting and action on variances


Management


  • Participate in the development of operational systems, processes and policies in support of organization's mission, including Management reporting, business process and organizational planning.
  • Define performance management KPI’s to monitor operational success against objectives.
  • Ensure that the Cluster SBUs operate with legality and conformity to established regulations.
  • Participate in Company promotional/educational/social events where required.


Critical skills and competencies required for this post:


  • 3-5 years of successful, high sales volume, operational, multi-unit management experience in the restaurant industry
  • Middle East experience.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills, and strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to train/mentor others
  • Able to work independently but as part of a team when needed
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • Basic business math and accounting skills, and strong analytical/decision-making skill
  • Proven ability to drive customer satisfaction, financial performance and employee satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated track record of workplace achievement in the selection, coaching and development

of managerial employees

  • Exceptional team-building capability
  • College or University Degree preferred
