Salary: $35-$40/hour

Shift: Full-Time, Day Shift - Field

Location: Greenville, SC

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Field Paving Heavy Equipment Technician to perform diagnostics, repairs, and reconditioning of machinery and components. This role supports shop operations and requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high-quality repairs. The technician will plan repair work, order parts, complete documentation, maintain tools, and ensure excellent communication and customer service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and recondition heavy equipment and components
  • Plan repair methods and sequence of tasks for assigned jobs
  • Order necessary parts, materials, and supplies
  • Complete repairs safely, efficiently, and in accordance with standards
  • Ensure quality workmanship and strong cosmetic finish after repairs
  • Return all unused parts and materials according to guidelines
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Keep accurate records of time, parts, supplies, and outside purchases
  • Maintain and care for shop tools, special equipment, and vehicles
  • Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers, and supervisors
  • Support overall shop operations and team goals


Requirements

  • Technical school certification or equivalent hands-on mechanical repair experience
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain diagnostic skills
  • Ability to repair major systems on:
  • Wheel Loaders
  • Excavators
  • Bulldozers
  • Crushers & Screeners
  • Pavers & Roller Compactors
  • Skid Steers
  • Backhoe Loaders
  • Strong communication skills and safe work habits
  • Reliable, ethical, adaptable, and team-oriented


Preferred Experience

  • Proven experience in heavy equipment repair
  • Understanding of diagnostic procedures for electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to work independently under supervision and deliver high-quality results
