HiFyve is hiring a CMM Programmer & First Article Inspection Specialist!


Starting Pay: $30-$36/hour (depending on experience)


Shift: 1st Shift | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM


Location: Milwaukee, WI


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, program, and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) using PC-DMIS software
  • Create and maintain CMM inspection programs from 3D CAD models
  • Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) for precision-machined components
  • Prepare and complete AS9102 First Article Inspection documentation based on inspection results
  • Analyze dimensional inspection results and troubleshoot nonconformances to determine root causes and ensure part compliance
  • Work closely with Quality and Engineering teams to establish effective inspection methods and inspection plans
  • Perform manual dimensional inspections using micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
  • Inspect purchased materials and components for dimensional conformance
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and customer specifications
  • Maintain compliance with applicable quality standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Support production and engineering teams by identifying dimensional issues and helping improve inspection processes
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation
  • Support a high-mix, low-volume CNC machining environment
  • Perform other quality and inspection duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Additional technical education in quality, metrology, machining, or engineering preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 2–5+ years of experience programming CMMs using PC-DMIS
  • Experience programming CMMs from 3D CAD models
  • Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
  • 2–5+ years of experience in dimensional inspection, CMM operation, quality inspection, or a related role
  • Strong knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and ASME Y14.5
  • Experience in a high-mix, low-volume CNC machining environment
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of precision measurement techniques and inspection equipment
  • Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems
  • Experience with ITAR-controlled manufacturing environments preferred
  • CMMC experience preferred
  • Experience with Brown & Sharpe CMM equipment is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams
