Salary: $90,000–$100,000/year

Position Overview

This Controls Engineer role focuses on PLC programming and advanced electrical control systems within automated manufacturing environments. The position emphasizes mechatronics-style responsibilities, including system design, electrical integration, and hands-on troubleshooting across electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Program, modify, and support PLC systems for automated equipment and processes
• Design, update, and improve electrical and control systems
• Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems with a strong emphasis on electrical controls
• Support internal teams and customer issues, often through remote troubleshooting
• Work with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and servo drives
• Develop and interpret ladder logic diagrams
• Design and modify electrical control panels
• Utilize CAD tools for electrical schematics and system layouts
• Support and integrate robotic systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical leadership
• Take ownership of projects and remain engaged until issues are fully resolved

Qualifications

• Strong background in controls engineering with a mechatronics-focused skill set
• Hands-on experience programming PLCs
• Knowledge of VFDs, servo drives, and motion control systems
• Experience with ladder logic and electrical schematics
• Proficiency with CAD for electrical design
• Experience with robotics, panel design, and automation systems
• Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
• Ability to lead and support others
• Strong work ethic with a mindset focused on completing the job
