About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager to support regulatory compliance, food labeling, and product specification initiatives for a growing food manufacturing company. This position serves as the technical expert for FDA compliance and food labeling regulations while partnering with Quality, Operations, Product Development, and Packaging teams to ensure products meet all regulatory, customer, and company requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise for FDA regulatory compliance and food labeling requirements
- Review and assess raw material specifications, product formulations, ingredient statements, and food labels for compliance with FDA regulations, customer requirements, and company standards
- Develop nutrition facts panels, ingredient statements, and product specifications for new products while maintaining and verifying existing product information
- Ensure compliance with CFR Title 21 and other applicable food regulations
- Respond to customer technical inquiries, regulatory questionnaires, and product information requests
- Review packaging artwork and labeling for regulatory accuracy prior to production
- Partner with internal departments to ensure all product labeling and packaging complies with regulatory and company requirements
- Maintain regulatory documentation, product specifications, raw material specifications, and electronic project files
- Monitor changes to FDA regulations and customer requirements, recommending updates to internal processes as needed
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with additional regulatory and quality projects as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of regulatory affairs experience, preferably within the food manufacturing industry
- Expert knowledge of FDA regulations, including CFR Title 21, and food labeling requirements
- Experience developing and reviewing nutrition facts panels, ingredient statements, product specifications, and food labels
- Strong understanding of food regulatory compliance and labeling laws
- Knowledge of Non-GMO Project Verified requirements is a plus
- Canadian food labeling experience is a plus
- Excellent analytical, organizational, proofreading, and time management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with nutrition software is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
