Job Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team and contribute to the design, development, and optimization of high-performance automotive components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, CAD modeling, and manufacturing processes, particularly in the automotive industry.


Salary: $85K-$90K

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-performance automotive parts, including exhaust systems, suspension components, and engine modifications.
  • Utilize SolidWorks and other CAD software to create 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings.
  • Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations to optimize product performance.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and casting.
  • Develop prototypes using rapid prototyping techniques such as 3D printing and CNC machining.
  • Conduct fitment tests, durability testing, and validation of components on vehicles.
  • Work with suppliers and production teams to refine designs for manufacturability and cost efficiency.
  • Maintain design documentation, BOMs, and revision control using PDM systems.
  • Research and stay up to date with industry trends, materials, and emerging technologies in the automotive performance sector.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the automotive or motorsports industry.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software.
  • Experience with FEA/CFD tools for stress analysis and flow simulations.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including CNC machining, casting and welding.
  • Hands-on experience with prototype development and testing.
  • Strong understanding of materials, metallurgy, and heat treatment processes.
  • Passion for automotive performance and engineering innovation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GD&T and tolerance analysis.
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics and suspension design.
  • Familiarity with aftermarket performance parts and automotive industry standards.
  • Experience with Dyno testing and performance data analysis.
