HiFyve is hiring a Heavy Equipment Field Technician in the Construction Equipment industry in Roswell, NM!


Salary: $28–$40/hour

Shift: Full Time

Location: Roswell, NM


Dedicated Service Truck Provided


Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair heavy construction equipment and components
  • Develop repair plans and determine the proper repair sequence
  • Identify required parts, materials, tooling, and resources
  • Perform repairs safely and accurately
  • Complete quality-assurance testing of repaired components, systems, and equipment
  • Complete service reports, work orders, parts requests, warranty documentation, and tooling records accurately and on time
  • Communicate repair status and progress to the direct supervisor
  • Retrieve and return parts and materials through the company’s parts-ordering system
  • Retrieve and return specialty tools through the company’s tool room
  • Properly operate and maintain specialty tools and major shop equipment, including air compressors, cleaning tanks, overhead cranes, and jib cranes
  • Properly use the assigned company vehicle, service truck, and fuel card
  • Immediately report service-truck or company-vehicle issues
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and service vehicle
  • Keep tools and tool carriers safe, organized, and properly updated
  • Follow all company policies and safety procedures
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned


Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate Degree or 4 years apprenticeship preferred
  • 3–5 years of related experience


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the operation and maintenance requirements of heavy-duty construction equipment
  • Understanding of occupational hazards and safety precautions associated with the trade
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools used in heavy equipment maintenance and repair
  • Experience using service equipment such as A/C recyclers, hydraulic jacks, and emissions analyzers
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and equipment-performance issues
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective customer-service skills
  • Ability to work independently in field environments
  • Strong professionalism, integrity, and judgment
