HiFyve is hiring a Group Leader (Nuclear Facilities Engineering) in Los Alamos, NM.


Salary: $170,600 - $295,400

Shift: May include extended hours/weekend coverage

Location: Onsite - Los Alamos, NM (Relocation package)


Position Overview:


Lead a high-impact engineering group supporting mission-critical nuclear facilities within a nationally recognized research environment. This role blends technical leadership, project oversight, and operational excellence to support national security initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Leadership: Manage and develop a team of engineers supporting nuclear facility operations and projects
  • Engineering Oversight: Ensure compliance with federal, DOE, and engineering standards across all technical deliverables
  • Project Execution: Assign resources, support design and implementation efforts, and drive milestone delivery
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee system health, safety systems, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Interface with internal leadership, DOE/NNSA, and cross-functional teams
  • Strategic Support: Assist division leadership with planning, staffing, and long-term operational goals


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams in complex environments
  • Strong background in facilities engineering (HVAC, utilities, infrastructure, mechanical/electrical systems)
  • Experience supporting regulated or high-compliance environments (nuclear, DOE, defense, etc.)
  • Ability to manage projects, budgets, and technical teams simultaneously
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required
