HiFyve has a client in Western Pennsylvania that is hiring for a General Manager in the Food and Beverage industry. 


Salary: $200k-$230k + bonus

Overview: This position involves comprehensive responsibility for managing both the revenue and cost elements of a business’s profit and loss statement. The role includes strategic business planning, overseeing the annual operating plan, and managing sales, marketing, manufacturing, and distribution functions. The General Manager is also tasked with developing and executing the business plan and leading others to meet or exceed business key performance indicators (KPIs) and net income objectives.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in planning, delegating, coordinating, staffing, organizing, and decision-making to achieve desirable profit-making results while adhering to regulatory and company policies.
  • Develop and manage the operating plan to meet or exceed business objectives. Formulate strategies and tactics for achieving financial goals, including presenting assumptions and recommending objectives. Make sound business projections, assess budgetary impacts, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Establish pricing strategies to maximize operating income. Analyze cost drivers to determine the selling price and apply a deep understanding of customers, market conditions, and competitors.
  • Collaborate with operations management to direct production activities, marketing management for successful commercialization of new products, and distribution management to optimize strategies and initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional projects related to growth opportunities, continuous improvement, and other key business initiatives. Set clear direction for project teams and involve appropriate personnel to implement key initiatives and standard processes effectively.
  • Manage risk by considering legal implications and exercising sound judgment in contractual agreements related to new business, facilities, and distributors. Consult with management and legal counsel as needed.
  • Communicate company goals and assist in establishing objectives aligned with business and organizational goals. Provide direction, mentoring, training, and development planning for managers. Identify and retain highly effective personnel and work with direct reports to cultivate capabilities and support career development.
  • Possess knowledge of union operations and regulations and experience leading unionized workforces to ensure compliance, foster collaboration, and effectively address workforce challenges.
  • Lead with a positive mindset and strong communication style; effectively motivate and reward employees.


Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food and/or beverage manufacturing, with profit and loss and financial responsibilities.
  • 4+ years of people management experience, including leading senior managers and multiple departments.
  • Proven track record of improvements in quality, safety, service, and cost.
  • Strong background in leading and supporting unionized workforces
