MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN 2 - 1ST SHIFT

East Chicago, IN (Northwest Indiana / Chicago metro) | Full-time, direct hire

Schedule: 1st Shift, 6:30am-3:00pm Monday-Friday, occasional overtime and alternating on-call weekends

Pay: $35-$37/hour based on experience

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

A global material handling equipment manufacturer is adding a Maintenance Technician 2 at its heavy-duty equipment plant in East Chicago, IN. You will keep CNC machining centers, fabrication equipment and hydraulic systems running in a hands-on, team-oriented plant.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines and other automated manufacturing equipment

- Troubleshoot and repair CNC mechanical systems and related components

- Diagnose and troubleshoot industrial hydraulic systems

- Perform machinery alignments, leveling, rigging and equipment relocations

- Support installation, startup, commissioning and continuous improvement of new and existing equipment

- Work with Production Engineering and Manufacturing to cut downtime and improve equipment reliability

WHAT YOU NEED

- Experience working on machining centers, fabrication equipment or similar industrial manufacturing equipment

- Strong knowledge of CNC mechanical systems: ball screws, linear rails, lubrication systems, rack and pinions, gearboxes and spindles

- Knowledge of mechanical components: bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, pumps and other power transmission equipment

- Knowledge of industrial hydraulics: pumps, valves and hydraulic controls

- Able to apply mechanical and technical knowledge to new or unfamiliar equipment

- Strong commitment to safety, including Lockout/Tagout

- Fast-paced, willing to cross-train, strong mechanical background
