HiFyve is hiring an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager!


Salary: $105,000 - $129,600 + 20% Annual Target Bonus

Shift: Full-Time | Flexible across operational shifts

Location: Cook County, IL


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage Environmental, Health & Safety programs for a large manufacturing and distribution operation
  • Develop and implement programs designed to reduce workplace injuries, incidents, and environmental risk
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, RCRA, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations
  • Conduct facility inspections, audits, risk assessments, and gap assessments to identify potential safety and environmental concerns
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans to address identified risks and compliance gaps
  • Serve as the site's EHS subject matter expert and provide guidance to leadership, supervisors, and employees
  • Manage environmental compliance programs including wastewater, stormwater, hazardous materials, and other applicable programs
  • Support regulatory permitting, inspections, reporting, and communications with government agencies
  • Partner with facility and operations teams to improve safety practices and environmental performance
  • Develop and deliver EHS training and awareness programs for employees at all levels
  • Establish and maintain emergency response procedures and participate in crisis management activities
  • Review and support workers' compensation claims and incident investigations as needed
  • Collect, analyze, and report EHS data, metrics, scorecards, and performance trends
  • Ientify opportunities for continuous improvement and share best practices across the organization
  • Work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, fleet, HR, legal, and other departments to ensure compliance and improve workplace safety
  • Support ergonomic, industrial hygiene, chemical safety, and other hazard prevention initiatives


Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience
  • High school diploma/GED with 9+ years of directly related EHS experience will also be considered


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 6+ years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, RCRA, and other applicable EHS regulations
  • Experience developing, implementing, and auditing EHS management systems
  • Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigation, and corrective action processes
  • Experience with environmental compliance programs such as wastewater, stormwater, hazardous materials, or air quality preferred
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex regulatory and technical information to employees and leadership
  • Experience developing and delivering safety training programs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use EHS data to drive improvements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Leadership experience within an EHS or operational environment preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma experience preferred
  • CSP, CIH, or other professional EHS certification preferred
  • Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or similar EHS management systems preferred
  • Food, beverage, consumer products, or high-volume manufacturing experience preferred
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check and drug screening
